bioXclusters reinforces its pathways to the Japanese market

Japan is the second largest pharmaceutical market in the world and leader in imports of the sector. Japanese life sciences companies are in the process of globalization and need alliances with foreign companies and biotechnology institutions to develop new medicines and incorporate new technologies. To that end, Japan is a strategic market for bioXclusters metacluster alliance. In collaboration with its Japanese Gateway Osaka Bio Headquarters, and with support of the EU-Japan Centre for industrial collaboration, bioXclusters organizes a mission to Japan in October 2017, following the 2016 success.

The organized mission allows to attend the following events. 

  • BioJapan (11-13 October 2017): Asia-wide benchmark trade fair for the global biotechnology industry that will bring together key business development and licensing professionals, R&D professionals and executives from biotechnology companies. This year’s fair also includes a HealthCare management and digital health area.

Building bridges between European & Japanese life science regions

bimg_29072ioXclusters plus, the European Strategic Cluster Partnership on Personalised Healthcare – co-funded by the COSME Programme of the European Union – organised a “Cluster-to-Cluster” workshop in BIO-Europe 2016 (Cologne) on 8th November. This session, built up in collaboration with the Council of European BioRegions (CEBR) and with the kind support of the EBD Group and the EU-Japan Centre, was dedicated to EU-Japan collaborations with the presentations of three major life sciences organisations in Japan.

bioXclusters plus “EU‐Japan Cluster Matchmaking Event” at BIO‐Europe 2016, Cologne, Germany

bioXclusters plus – the European Strategic Cluster Partnership on Personalised Healthcare, which has joined together four leading European Bioclusters: BiocatBioMBioPmed and Lyonbiopole and is co-funded by the European Union’s COSME Programme – is pleased to invite European and Japanese clusters and networks who work in the field of personalised healthcare to participante in a networking session organised at BIO-Europe 2016 in Cologne on the afternoon of 8th November. This session, organised in collaboration with CEBR and kindly supported by EBD Group and EU-Japan Centre, will include presentations on Japanese life science clusters and initiatives.

The Mission to Japan: 60 European healthcare SMEs have participated in a very successful mission

26 European healthcare SMEs will participate in a trade mission to Japan with bioXclusters plus

The European Strategic Cluster Partnership on Personalised Healthcare, bioXclusters plus – which has joined together four leading European biotech clusters, Biocat (Catalonia), BioM (Bavaria), BioPmed (Piedmont) and Lyonbiopole (Auvergne Rhone-Alpes) – has organised a mission to Japan which will take place from 10th to 14th October 2016. This mission, which will visit Osaka and Yokohama, has been organised in collaboration with the EU Japan Centre.
