BioM

Einfaches RGBBioM Biotech Cluster Development GmbH is the coordinating agency of the Bavarian Biotech Cluster for all fields of biotechnology, and for the Munich Biotech Cluster with a focus on pharmaceutical biotechnology and personalized medicine. On behalf of the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Infrastructure, Transport and Technology, it serves as the one-stop-shop for biotechnology companies and start-ups in the region as well as the first point of contact for international business partners.

Bavaria is a constantly growing hotbed of innovation and ranks among the top biotech clusters in Europe – with more than 300 companies in the life science sector (biotech, pharma, CRO, suppliers), including 166 biotech SMEs and a well-filled drug development pipeline with more than 20 candidate drugs in late clinical phases. BioM collaborates with other cluster organizations (e.g. medtech), life science incubators and research institutions in Bavaria, in order to connect the Bavarian life science hotspots within one large state-wide network.

BioM offers a wide range of seminars, skills training and networking events for biotech entrepreneurs and their employees, as well as consultancy and business development services, seed financing and an information portal with company database and job market at www.bio-m.org. In a nation-wide competition 2010, the Munich Biotech Cluster was awarded “Leading-Edge Cluster” status for the Munich research initiative “m4 – Personalized Medicine and Targeted Therapies”, also managed by BioM.
